For private bookings, groups and parties, a transferable but non-refundable deposit of 50% will be due on booking, with the remaining 50% due one month before the event is due to take place. In the circumstance where booking is made within one month of the event, full payment will be required at the time of booking.
We will confirm your booking as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to offer any refunds for cancellations which occur after the 14 days from the date and time of booking and making payment, for any reason.
Cancellation & Refunds
Where you have made a booking, and wish to cancel within 14 days of the date of booking, please contact us but for the avoidance of doubt, there will be no refund in the event the class has been attended and the booking fulfilled, or, in the event that the services have not been fulfilled, we reserve the right to charge you in respect of any and all costs, expenses incurred arising from us in preparing for the services to be carried out.
The Cookery Lab is not liable for missed classes due to circumstances including weather, travel, illness, or any other situations that occur out of its control. If you cannot attend a class you may send someone else in your place. Please let us know the name of the attendee in advance of the class. You may transfer to an alternative class or course if you give us notice not less than 21 days before the date of the class. In this case, we will rebook you on to your selected class or issue a voucher valid for one year from date of issue. Please notify us of any change in the contact details provided as these will be used for all correspondence.
Class content
The menus posted on our website may be subject to variations if ingredients are not available. Occasionally we may have to cancel or postpone a class due to unavoidable circumstances or if a class is under-subscribed. In such a case we will notify all confirmed attendees as soon as possible and offer to transfer to another class or issue a full refund in our sole discretion.
To offer the best experience possible in the allocated time, all our ingredients will be pre-weighed and, in some instances, due to time restraints, parts of the menu will be prepared ahead of the class by our chefs.
Dietary requirements / food allergies
Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any food allergies – it is your responsibility to let us know of any allergies or intolerances. We can not be held responsible for any issues arising from not being informed in advance. Where possible we will cater to dietary requirements however, in some cases alternatives may not be provided.
Young people
We have a recommended minimum age of 8 years old in our kitchen as we feel this is a suitable average age where children can understand the dangers of being in a kitchen without 1:1 supervision. If you feel your child is not responsible enough to be in a busy kitchen environment and the hazards that come with it, please do not sign your child up for our classes as we cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries from a lack of understanding. If in doubt, please get in touch with us directly.
All bookings for participants under 17 are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Please note, no matter the age of your child, should they cause disruption, or should we feel they pose a safety hazard to themselves or others, we will ask you to collect them early and a refund will not be issued. We do not have the capacity or insurance to cover additional unpaid people to be in our kitchen. Everyone present will need to be booked and their spot paid for.
Health & Safety
Take extra care when handling specialist equipment and be aware of your surroundings and potential hazards in a kitchen. The Cookery Lab cannot be held liable for injuries or accidents. Should we feel you are disrupting the class or posing a risk to yourself or others around you, you will be asked to leave the class and will not receive a refund.
Please wear appropriate clothing, including shoes that cover your feet, and ensure long hair is tied back.
Property
All property that you bring to The Cookery Lab is brought entirely at your own risk and we cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to the property, nor do we accept any liability to any student.
If there are damages to the venue and/or its contents the event organiser or participant will subsequently be billed and in failure to pay, appropriate action will be taken.
Privacy
We may take photographs or videos during courses for use on our social media accounts or for future marketing purposes. If you would prefer for you or your child to not be photographed or filmed, please let us know at the time of booking.
