Sarah created The Cookery Lab to share her love of food and science with everyone. We believe understanding a bit of the science behind your cookery will make it easier to create delicious food, time after time, and without the need to rely on remembering recipes. Good food is not just for "chefs".
Growing up, food was an important part of Sarah's family life - with a mum who loved to cook, and a dad who loved to make bread. Sarah eventually went off to study analytical chemistry at university where she found the most interesting experiments were always the ones that went wrong (because there was more to learn). Since then there has been a career spanning pharmaceuticals, chemical, financial regulation, and corporate governance. Food however, has been a constant presence. Seven years ago Sarah began working as a chef in a variety of restaurants, alongside her city career. She began teaching children cookery in 2019, and then spent some time in 2020 during Covid refining her skills at Leiths School of Food and Wine in London.
Fast forward to 2024, and an opportunity to build a beautiful teaching kitchen from scratch. The Cookery Lab is there to inspire and entertain you: bring friends, families and colleagues together to cook and eat delicious food. We hope you love The Cookery Lab as much as we do.
